At TapChow, we believe your food choices and location details are personal. We only collect the information necessary to fulfill your orders, process payments securely, and deliver your meals on time. We never sell your personal data.

1. Introduction & Scope

TapChow ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by BitBiz Nigeria Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information belonging to customers, restaurant owners, branch staff, and delivery partners who interact with the TapChow application, website, and related operations.

By downloading, registering, or using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in this policy, in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other applicable data protection guidelines.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use our platform, we collect different types of personal and operational information:

Account & Profile Details

Your name, email address, phone number, and account password. For restaurant partners, we also collect legal business documentation, bank details, and KYC credentials.

Delivery & Location Data

Physical delivery addresses, saved coordinates, and precise GPS location mapping to coordinate orders from restaurants to your door.

Payment Information: Financial transactions are processed via our PCI-DSS compliant partner Paystack. TapChow does not store or keep raw credit card numbers or banking passwords on our local servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process personal data to provide a seamless local meal ordering experience:

  • Fulfillment: Sending orders to kitchen branches, coordinating riders, and tracking delivery status.
  • Communication: Sharing receipt emails, order status changes, and critical product alerts.
  • Security: Detecting fraud, resolving payment anomalies, and verifying branch accounts.
  • Improvement: Analysing location usage, traffic bottlenecks, and popular food categories to optimize our platform.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

To complete your orders, we must share limited information with relevant stakeholders in the ecosystem:

  • Restaurant Partners: We share order items, customer first name, and delivery notes with the cooking branch to prepare your food correctly.
  • Delivery Riders: We share the delivery address, recipient name, phone number, and coordinate locations to verify dropping off your meal.
  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting infrastructure (e.g. database servers, serverless logs) and messaging providers (SMS and push notification systems).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal details to third-party advertisers or data aggregators.

5. Security & Data Retention

We use secure industry practices, including Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transfers and server-side encryption for databases, to protect your details.

Personal data is retained only for as long as your account remains active or as required by law to maintain transactional history and resolve billing disputes. When accounts are deleted, personal markers are anonymized or removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and NDPR guidelines, you hold the following rights:

Access your personal profile and order history at any time.
Request correction of inaccurate information (e.g. phone numbers or address notes).
Delete your account or request data restriction by emailing our team.

7. Cookies Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your browser to make websites function better. We use cookies to:

  • Keep you authenticated when logging into your vendor or staff panel.
  • Remember your local branch search queries and preferences.
  • Measure basic, anonymous analytics visits to verify landing page load speeds.
